Let it be mkII

We here for a death that’s no ones fault
Memories of holidays and toys
Inside a cold and empty vault
Except the father and his boys
Everyone is cold and not at home
Except them, their, there alone
Troubled waters flowing yesterday
Your poem spoke of ordered time and shame
No its not, really not ok
Incomprehensible thoughts of blame
Selfish feelings here are hard to tame
They tell us who we are and why we came

Why did you leave without telling us just ‘why?’
You didn’t wish to stay no more let time go by
There is no meaning to the consolation prize
If your not around how can you see us cry.

Life Changing

Life Changing

Gave up smoking,
This stopped most
Of the drinking too,
Thought that life
Would change,
Thought I wouldn't
Feel so blue.
There are perceptible
Changes and things
That differ now
I have begun to
remember stuff,
Smells and feelings
But more rows,
Thus the atmosphere
And light...
Perfumes smelling
Bright, lights to
Past concessions,
Taste of food &
Short confessions a
Personal lingering youth
And pain of broken tooth
Hot shame and strange stains
Belief, spaceman, astronaut
Intelligent rational thought,
I was a star, thought
I'd have a car,
Bigger house
Certainly not...
Living hand to mouth
I gave up smoking.

18th Reality

18th Reality

Well 18 at last Tom, Tom
What are you going to do
Drink, shout and be merry
Then dance the whole night through

I think though rather, if you will
It may go a bit like this….
A few pints you may spill
And you’ll get very pissed

Swaying, rocking in the bar
With your trousers at your feet
We hope you show some self-control
When your strippers on her knees

It’s all down hill from here my son
Now you’ve become a man
Legal drinks and voting slips
And drive a plumbers van.

We hope you have a lovely day
Happy Birthday to you
Tomorrow we know you will pay
When howling at the loo.

Retrospective and Sentimental

Retrospective and Sentimental

I followed for a while and let my head retain, some of the good things, things I cant explain,
It became so easy, let the love remain, I had a story to unfold.
I listened to the people who had helped me out, but they didn’t really want to admit,
They got me out of holes I couldn’t climb, I still couldn’t really see it.
I felt so little and I felt so small I have to admit I couldn’t feel at all,
Numb form my toes to the top of my head, you should have seen me then I felt so dead.
Felt like a child but I felt so old nicely informed that I should keep it cold
‘Hey weve all had this flu, its been going round, have some soup, it wont keep you bound.’
Nobody admit…nobody said…you been a naughty little boy, you’ll ruin your head,
In not so many words I think that Id been told, Id have to grow up, Id have to get old.
Did I ever listen, did I fuck, its only them’ll get old with luck, there Isn’t any point in
Asking where or why, just look at all your lives.

Talking About

Well what are we talking about
Just want to scream and shout
Your only a wish away
So I’m coming to you today

You take me forever now
Forever the world goes round
Its all gonna go my way
Your only a day away

Yeah were both kind of falling in
A frightening loving spin
Were racing together with
All of our lives to live

Well that’s all that I want to say
Its all that I wanted to do
Was just to say that I love you
I love you…

Be my Valentine

Be my Valentine

Be my Valentine so,
You can see I'm not lying,
You know if you follow my line
Then be my red rosy red heart
because roses will follow the darts
from a Cupids strong bow,
my loves so strong so you know
when you see my heart aches,
you can soothe me with cakes
and love from your kitchen,
please feed me my smitten
your my fluffy little kitten,
my love and my eyes,
through a life with surprises
then please be my valentine
and my wife throughout time.

Olde English Garden

Olde English Garden

Olde English and greensects hot right on muggy beer garden.
A stream billow through bridge flow over the water.
Posh England I love you , when I am not poor. I can drink in your gardens no worries afore...

It was you

It was you, it was you, it was you

Its all because I used to go to the playground on my own
It’s all because I used to go all the way to the field then
without once thinking about home.
And then when I saw my friends I would not like to talk
about all the things that were in my head because
I always thought that I was the only one, just the only one
who used to live and was not dead.

We always stared at the sky and the clouds
and then we would stare all-night at the stars.
You could run down to a stream
and watch the river beginning,
The sparkling cool water and the clearness
of the water rippling.
What was it that made me want to throw it all away
and become interested in cars, throw it all away
and stop watching the stars.

I spose we all grow up and find out one day, one week, one year,
that there are more interesting things to do
But what more could be interesting than watching the day
Then attempt to glue plastic aeroplanes together and then try to fly them too!
Who was it that said, that I should move away, beyond my country haven,
from the woods the streams, the animals in the fields, the plastic and the glue
only to buy a house with you.

It was you, it was you, it was you.

We Will Wed today

We will wed today

We didn’t know where we were heading
We hadn’t thought about our lives
There really wasn’t any knowing
Who we’d marry or where in life we’d lie

Then we met us one another
A newer one person, one person happy times
Our new adventure with one another
Every Christmas love each others mince pies

Food and wine, beer, some cool culture and travel
Broadsheets of interest rule our reading
Without the paper news to crease and unravel
Our souls are growing together feeding

We’ll wed today to show all you nice people
We’ll wed today together, just girl and boy
We’ll live together forever, heaping sugar and a leaping
Up and down with tears of joy.
