What are You?
Watching the streets go by With my seventh eye, Watching the wheels go round. I talk to a nonsense guy Whose hair is high, Explaining the things he's found. Striking a chord in time, The fourth in rhyme, He tells me that he feels down. He shouts to the world out loud 'Not one of the crowd!', Don’t belong to this old town. 'I can't hang about these streets…' He cries and bleats, Dancing just like a clown. I watch him spinning aloud With the crunching sound, of bones as he's run down. What are you, what are you supposed to do, What were you, what was the thing that went through you. I couldn’t do, the thing that I just saw him do. What could you do, what was I supposed to do. |

What are You
Snowstorms in the Morning
Snowstorms in the Morning
A blizzard said the Wizard
With the magical board.
But no, just a patter, a splatter
Danced forth.
The door would not open
Said the lady she’s sure.
The drift did not come,
What a terrible bore.
Now when the morning came,
Whitened not dark.
‘Will it be any different?’,
the neighbours will bark.
Oh look at the mirror
All covered in snow.
The wonderful colours
Of visions you know.
Now I cannot remember
Anything more,
Except for the number
And that was just four.
The smoke that was rising
Within my gaze
‘Don’t worry.’, said Jimmy
that was just haze!
A blizzard said the Wizard
With the magical board.
But no, just a patter, a splatter
Danced forth.

Said the lady she’s sure.

Sleep Please
Sleep please.
Escape my boy escape.
Elope my girl elope.
Dissent my boy descent.
Relent of course recant.
Close your eyes then float
To ‘relax’ world,
And spend all those ‘tired’ dollars
On zed beds and sleeping boats.
Visit the stores in dream town,
Supermarket dash for REM gowns.
Count the sheep on slumber farm,
Counting on, whilst keeping calm.
Escape my boy escape.

Past and Future
Past and Future
Did you ever write a love song
That you couldn't quite forget
Did you ever read the words of
A letter you had kept
if the morning comes
And its still in your head
Close your eyes
Let the magic show begin
You realise
That the words are colouring
Just relax, open up
Let the memories fall in
For your dreams of the past
Shape your future
Don't look back
Because your dreams will point the way
Push and process
File the good and bad away
Rest your head now
Only you are here to stay
For your dreams of the past
Shape your future
.
That you couldn't quite forget
Did you ever read the words of
A letter you had kept

No Picnic
No Picnic
We want to avoid the mistakes
that we made the last time
and go on to the other side of the tree
to see just what we could find
think of the things that we could remember.
A side of the family that we could see
A time of our lives when we ate cucumber.
Cucumber sandwiches tea, toast and sunshine
the smell of mown grass
shard light rays through branches
and the family well oiled in the fields.
My orangy, yelllow colour, green salad
and the tan lines, the cakes on the plates assam,
the sun and the moon just in our time
the falling of light colour skirts on the grass
I could be ever so further from happiness that visits so fast.
never had the money or breeding never had the visions of class...

That First Night
When I wound up in the cold that night
I thought my life had really lost some light
But then through the dark came your vision
Of rightful need hope and decisions
Of what we should do next
After the pleasantry questions had commenced
And we fell into a warm bed after wine
Music song and chat, do you remember that
Dining on the fat of the land and listened to bands
do you remember the morning that
Followed, holiday photos, smiles and eyes
Following each other around then heading for ground
in the fallout from the night,
Waiting for each others bells, the phone just might.

Sweet Sydney 2
Sweet Sydney
Sydney saved my kidneys
My liver and my heart cos
Ive been a drinking
And Ive come really far.
Ive sat and chilled out
But I’m getting really restless
The boredom starting flatness.
Find it very stagnant, find it
Quite repugnant, in some ways,
Some days and in some plays.
The drama’s pretty tedious
Too hot to comfortably handle.
I need to see more country
And I'll know Ive really landed.

Watching the Street
Watching the street
Sit and watch the neighbours Through the window watching each others stars. Sit and watch the neighbours Spying cruelly Watching through their bars. Sit and watch the neighbours Living slowly Washing all their cars. Sit and watch the neighbours Gossip friendly Turn their backs and slag each other off For they are not the loving kind. Listen to the the streets steps talking To each other, In their blackened yards. Old birds and garden dwellers, Telling stories. Spinning thinning yarns. All the crazy lying, Stories growing Spreading to afar. Cannot find a reason Why miserable people, Turn their backs and slag each other off, For they are not the loving kind. |

Finance
Watch me go into the bank over yonder
Watch me see the teller there Let me talk to him whilst I am browsing Is he the money seller man of strange wonder ‘Can I buy some money?’ ‘With what are you going to buy’ ‘The money that you will give me Is the money that I will try’ So he gave me some money to purchase the goods Buy some money from the branch for a ranch And he said that I really should return there Come see him in one month for some lunch Returned did I in a short while To see the man who was nice But they said that he no longer worked there And they refused my hard earned cup of rice Which was all that I had for my money It was all I could show in the end They said that my house looked just stunning They said that they really shouldn’t lend So they stole all my money and possessions They took away my self respect They threw away all hope of our future They conned, stole and delivered my end. |
No Tears
No Tears
When you came round
A new person you have found
I was All on my own
Just waiting and prone
To the nice things you say
When you come round this way
All sweet and all pure
I am totally really sure.
Its time you are gone
When I see your none
Of the things I first thought
When Our time was so short
Just together round here
I lost all my fear
No fright and no tears………..
